Lives and works in Luanda.
Nelo studied painting and sculpture workshops at UNAP (National Union of Plastic Artists), graduating in carpentry and set design.
Nelo’s family inherited the art of creating masks. It also plays an important role in the artistic community of Luanda, where it teaches some of its techniques to the younger generation. He has been exhibiting regularly since 2000, and has done the set design for numerous theatrical and cinematographic pieces.
Artist represented by the Angolan Pavilion at the 2015 Venice Biennale, Nelo exhibited in Angola, Lisbon and Milan.
