Luís Damião develops his work around the artistic practice of photography. His process currently integrates a strong component of experimentation and research focusing on the development of new means of technical production and presentation. He integrates a generation of emerging artists who launch renewed perspectives on the subject of traditional compositions in the age of digital technology and image manipulation.
The references of his aesthetic construction refer to the universe of documentary photography but with simultaneous recourse to an elaborate staging of images.
The introduction of this performative perspective results in a process of recurring fading of the border between what is documentary and what is fiction and usually happens to emphasize reflections on social and political experiences in the urban context of Luanda.
