Multidisciplinary artist lives and works in Luanda, London and Lisbon.
Januario Jano completed his undergraduate degree at London Metropolitan
University, in London, England in 2005. Since than, He has been involved in self-initiate research projects that has been a core set for his artistic practice.
He, mainly work on painting, installation, video, sculpture and photography, uses mixed media to develop relevant body of work and work rituals. 2016 was awarded with Art Laguna Price on selected category: Business for Art, this is one of most prestigious art award in Venice, Italy. In 2015 participate in a group exhibition, “UNORTHODOX”, with the curators Jens Hoffman & Kelly Taxter at The Jewish Museum, New York, USA. Januario Jano is also one of the most prominent artists working in Angola, by the art critics. In 2013 Goethe Institut, Luanda, invited him as a visiting artist for the project “Moving Africa” in Doual´art, Doualá, Cameron. In 2014 He was included in “St. Jorge Island” Project, by Beyond Entropy, curatated by Paula de Nascimento and Stefano Rabolli Pansera.
